In this video, Dr. Rachel Goldstein shares three stories inspired by real people suffering from anorexia nervosa. These stories are to help you better understand how to define anorexia, the serious medical complications that can occur from anorexia, the influence of social media on eating disorders, and where you or your loved one can find support and treatment.

Anorexia affects people of all genders, races, ethnicities, body shapes and sizes. At the end of the video, Dr. Goldstein offers practical tips for approaching and supporting a loved one who you suspect may have an eating disorder.

Dr. Rachel Goldstein is an adolescent medicine physician at Stanford Medicine. She specializes in taking care of teens and young adults, and has treated many patients who have struggled with eating disorders.
