Nearly two years after the overturning of Roe v Wade, access to abortion is once again in the hands of the justices. This time, the court is hearing challenges to the Food and Drug Administration’s decisions to increase access to mifepristone, a drug it deemed safe over 20 years ago. Mifepristone is a prescription pill that is used to manage miscarriage and, when taken in combination with another drug, misoprostol, “is used to end a pregnancy through ten weeks gestation,” according to the FDA.
