Some California farmers and local businesses are coming together to serve SAG-AFTRA members, some of whom have not worked since July, with an outdoor food pantry. A free farmer’s market offered enough fresh produce and staples like milk and eggs to feed 200 families. Contract negotiations between the Hollywood studios and the Writers Guild of America and SAG-AFTRA are seemingly at a standstill. Until interested parties move past this deadlock, there will be more people in need.
