After some much-needed rehab, Florida officials released 12 manatees back into the wild. In 2020, several of the sea cows in the region died from starvation. This was due to the loss of a lot of vegetation, a food source for the sea cows, due to algal blooms. It’s a team effort to get them back into the water, as manatees weigh about 1,000 pounds. Once released, they’ll be monitored. Inside Edition Digital has more.
