Asthma is a condition that causes the airways to become inflamed and narrow, making it difficult to breathe. As a nurse, knowing the pathophysiology of asthma and how it’s treated will likely come up on the NCLEX exam.
Asthma attacks can be triggered by allergens, exercise, pollution, and colds. The most common treatments for asthma include inhalers and steroids.
